The certification is a program of the International Organization for Standardization, founded in 1946 to develop common manu-facturing, trade and communi-
cations standards.  The ISO 9000 standards provide a framework for an organization's structure, management and operational systems and procedures, which together will ensure consistency, efficiency and continuous im- provement of services.  ISO also helps identify weakness in pro-cesses and the root causes of problems so that continuous im-provements can be made.

ISO 9001:2000 certification is not an end in itself.  POLYTRON DEVICES, INC. 's interest in re-ceiving ISO 9001:2000 registra-tion is to build quality into all its services.  Existing practices are not just documented but rather each and every process is re-viewed, analyzed, and evalu-ated.

The strategy detailed below provides the lowest risk RoHS compliant implemen-
tation/conversion process.  All raw materials will be sourced as RoHS compliant with respect to higher reflow requirements of Pb-Free soldering.  All RoHS compliant products will be fully backward compatible with Sn/Pb soldering and fully forward compatible with Pb-Free soldering.

RoHS Compliance
Compliance to the RoHS directive within the Polytron Devices company has been planned and is being implemented using parallel efforts related to design, supply chain, and empirical test methods.

Design:
 - All PCB (Printed Circuit Board) finishes     have been changed from Pb bearing     ASL type to industry standard Pb free in     preparation of pending RoHS     legislation.
 - All new product development activity     within the past two years has and     continues to use Pb-Free, and Pb-Free     compatible metallurgies as a standard     design practice.
 - All new designs require RoHS     compliant components.

Supply Chain:
Polytron Devices, Inc. continues to build business partnerships with suppliers  who make positive efforts to satisfy RoHS compliant procurement.

Empirical Test Methods:
Component and finished product level testing of materials used in the construction of our designs is also being employed using laboratory analysis.

Product Compliance
It is our intention to follow a process of Self Declaration for our products achieved through responses to our supplier questionnaires, certificates or materials declarations and where we feel necessary laboratory analysis.
